Hearts Melt as Dog Shares Treasures He Finds With Owner on Beach Day

A pup named Hudson has melted hearts on social media after his owner shared a video of him hunting for shells at the beach, bringing the most beautiful ones to her.

In the heartwarming video, shared on TikTok on Wednesday under the username @hudsonstaysgolden, the golden retriever can be seen grabbing shells from the shore and then bringing them to his mom at the beach, but only the perfect ones.

"Proof there is nothing more pure than a dog's love... Wholesome proud moment loading... He brought me his treasure!" layover text on the clip says.

"You see... Hudson loves searching for shells. He only keeps the unbroken ones... Once he fins a good one, he carries it around and sometimes... He shares it!

A caption shared along with the viral video explains: "My dog shared his treasures with me. What do you think was going through his head? These are the moments that mean the most to me.

"I don't think there is a love that is more pure than that of a dog, especially my golden retriever. We don't get many summers with them, so I will make every single one count."

The poster, Maria Morgana, from New Jersey, told Newsweek that Hudson is the "most lovable" dog she's ever known, and that he has an incredible intuition and always finds and comforts those who need him most.

"Animals are absolutely incredible—there's so much we can learn from their instinctive kindness," she said.

"It has been an incredible experience getting to carve out a happy corner of the internet. I have always known how special Hudson is, but getting to share that with people around the world is a gift I don't take for granted. Hudson is just as sweet and goofy as he appears.

"As an elementary school teacher, I'm constantly seeking teachable moments, and I'm continually amazed by Hudson's ability to learn new things—like smiling on command! Together, we're on a mission to spread happiness far and wide. Hudson has even earned the title of Serotonin Superhero."

But it's not just Hudson who can tell when people are sad. The Canine Journal website explains that dogs can sense emotional changes, including sadness, and are able to read facial expressions and detect changes in our tone of voice or behavioral patterns.

In a study carried out in 2016 by the University of Lincoln, in the U.K, several domestic dogs were shown a series of images and vocalizations, and they were able to recognize the emotions conveyed.

Svetlana said: "This is partially the reason why I don't understand how some people don't treat their dogs as human beings... on some level, they have the same consciousness as us."

Swiftly Good added: "Still have a vase full of rocks because my baby used to gift me the biggest one she'd find."
