Watch 'Two Gentle Souls' as Little Girl Gives Dog Best Friend a Spa Day
The internet's hearts have collectively melted over the relationship between a toddler and her best friend: a giant dog.
Zoe Murray, 30, lives in Southport in the United Kingdom with her family, which includes husband Michael, their two-year-old daughter Halle and their Weimaraner dog, Frank. Murray regularly shares clips of her dog and daughter interacting to her TikTok account @frankandhalle, from the baby growing up with Frank, to showing her reading a book to him while he naps.
"Frank and Halle have the most special relationship, everything we could have wished for," franchise development manager Murray told Newsweek. "The two have just grown closer and closer as they've got older and now they're the perfect duo. Halle always gives Frank a kiss before bed, and a stroke on the head every morning. Frank often sleeps outside her bedroom door when she goes to bed."
Now one video has shot the duo to social media stardom, as Halle treated Frank to a day of being utterly pampered—and he was clearly loving every second.
The clip, shared on September 1, already has over 780,000 likes and 5 million views, and shows Halle gently playing with Frank: brushing his ears, stroking him with a brush between the eyes, and combing his head.
Frank, meanwhile, looks to be in utter bliss: eyes closed and totally relaxed.
Murray explained the "spa day treatments" aren't anything new for Frank and Halle, as the two-year-old "loves to include Frank when she's playing, whether she's having a tea party with her teddies, playing doctors or putting on pretend makeup - she gets Frank involved and he loves it.
"Most of the time he's awake and patiently sits, soaking up the attention, by the end of it he's usually asleep."
TikTok users adored the video, which was shared to TikTok with the caption: "Two gentle souls."
One commenter called it "beautiful," with another declaring: "Dog spa and he is loving it."
One emotional user wrote: "This teddy bear is alive and this is my best friend."
And one praised Murray, writing: "When you're an AMAZING parent who teaches your child to be so extra kind to animals AND IT SHOWS!!"
Proud mom Murray "can't believe the response" to her video, admitting she never thought "it would get this reaction."
"I posted the TikTok just simply for fun, we went out for the day and when I checked my phone a couple hours later, it had escalated way more than I ever imagined."
She and her husband worked to make Frank feel included from the moment they learned they were expecting Halle, from introducing baby noises and scents early, to even giving him a teddy with the sound of Halle's ultrasound heartbeat.
And it worked, with Frank dropping his ball at Halle's feet on the day they brought her home from hospital, and the bond has grown ever since. Halle was also taught to be gentle with Frank, and to give him space while he's sleeping.
Weimaraners like Frank aren't among the most common breeds, coming 48th in the American Kennel Club's (AKC) most popular dog breeds of 2023.
The dogs are one of the larger breeds, with males growing up to 27 inches and weighing up to 90 pounds, but they are known as gentle giants: the AKC notes their affection towards family and states they are excellent with children.
