Internet Hard Relates To Dachshund Who Sings Along To Country Music

Dachshunds are known for being a vocal breed, but did you know they have excellent singing skills, too?

A video shared on TikTok in August by @jaaaashua, shows a female dachshund resting in her doggy bed when her owner puts music on loudspeaker, and she does something incredible.

"Alexa play 'Tennessee Whiskey' by Chris Tapleton," the poster can be heard saying before the country song starts playing and the wiener dog immediately starts singing along, perfectly emulating the musician.

"The first note is all she needs," her owner explains in a caption shared with the hilarious video.

It's not uncommon for dogs to bark or howl along music, but what makes them do that? According to science, it's in their genes.

The American Kennel Club (AKC), explains that the main reason why some dogs howl is their connection to their ancestors, the wolves, who use howling to communicate with each other.

"They do it to let other pack members know where they are or to warn off other animals encroaching on their territory," the website says.

Canines also have a sense of pitch and can howl on different notes, and because they can pick up higher frequencies than us, they may be howling along to something you can't even hear.
