Owner Gets WFH Job, Discovers Cat's Relationship With "Secret Boyfriend"

A cat owner who recently started working remotely discovered her cat had been living a secret life the whole time she went into the office.

Cleo the Persian cat used to slink around the house getting into whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted without a set of eyes watching her every move. She became comfortable with her alone time as her owner went to work. But when the alone time became too much Cleo ventured out to create new relationships, one of which was uncovered recently.

In the August 8 TikTok video posted to the account @cleothecitykitty, Cleo confidently strolled up to the giant windows in their New York City apartment as a worker was suspended outside. The worker greeted Cleo like he'd done it a thousand times before, setting off a lightbulb in her owner's mind.

She discovered Cleo had a secret life. Heck, a "secret boyfriend" this whole time. And because Cleo's owner started working from home, the cat could no longer hide her relationship.

The caption reads: "How long has this been going on for."

The two displayed their love for the owner for the first time. The worker bent down to gaze into Cleo's eyes. Meanwhile, she strutted back and forth on the windowsill. She was flaunting her fluffy tail to her boyfriend, making sure he didn't forget who he was dating.

Newsweek reached out to @cleothecitykitty for additional comment.

With over 810,100 views and 165,200 likes, TikTok users couldn't get enough of this special relationship.

"She has good taste! He has a job and he adores her. I approve," commented a viewer, while a second said: "Oh man. That tail! Who could resist that beauty! Lol. She's a flirty girlie!"

Another added: "Cleo has a whole 'at home' life you will learn about now that you work at home."

WFH With Cats

Those new to the work-from-home lifestyle might have already learned that your pets won't leave you alone. They're excited to have you home with them. And while they add adorableness to the day, they aren't the most productive coworkers.

Catster shared a few tips for those WFH employees that will help you focus on work while keeping your cats entertained or occupied. This includes sticking to a daily routine so your cat can anticipate what will happen throughout the day.

Try exercising your cat before you start working or schedule play time throughout the day. Owners might want to consider leaving on cat TV to keep them entertained, setting up a cat-friendly room and saving special toys for your big meetings.

It's also important to make your workspace uninviting to the cat, which involves removing any toys and keeping the food and water bowls away from your desk. This will prevent them from coming in and checking on you.
