What Happens When Cream Golden Retriever Decides to Roll in Grass: 'Grinch'
How a dog returned to her owner after playing in the grass brought in over 2.5 million views on Instagram, leaving people in stitches.
Instagram user @rosenberg_annica has a golden retriever named Irma. Her glossy cream fur typically shines bright, a staple for the dog breed. However, the owner quickly grew frustrated after seeing how Irma came back from a trip outside. No explanation was needed. The evidence was written all over her fur.
In the Instagram video that was posted on August 17, Irma sat proudly in front of her owner as she was likely instructed. The owner needed to get a good look at Irma. Her fur was stained bright green from head to paw. The only part left looking like her original color was her snoot, although if you look closely enough, there is a slight discoloration around her nose too.

The caption simply reads: "No no noooooo."
While seeing her dog come back covered in grass stains might've brought on an instant headache, the owner wrote that her dog "painted herself with grass and she had a blast." You can't put a price on your fur baby's happiness.
Although, it wasn't easy getting her white coat to shine brightly again. Another comment revealed her dog was stained like this for about three days.

This green-haired goofball reminded many users of a certain Christmas character, with one writing, "Now you have a Grinch retriever."
Another added: "I'm sorry dear OP, but unless you didn't notice, you've been scammed! That's not a golden retriever, that's the Grinch!!!"
A third user posted: "Tell me you just cut the grass without telling me you just cut the grass."
A Dog's Fur
Surprisingly, or maybe unsurprisingly to owners, dogs can't help themselves and will roll in the grass until their heart's content. And if they played in fresh-cut grass, they'd sport a new hair color.
A dog's fur can stain easily and sometimes shampooing isn't enough to remove the stain. In an article on its website, DailyPuppy recommended creating a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and cornstarch to place on a dog's coat for about 15 minutes, depending on the severity of the stain. The paste-like concoction will, hopefully, remove any remaining stains that shampoo couldn't get. Remember to also brush out the stained area, remove any additional debris and rinse with warm water.
