Cat Has 'Screaming' Protest After Owner Dares to Invite Guests Home
A cat called Boots has left social media viewers laughing after her owner caught her on camera complaining about having too many guests downstairs.
The hilarious video, shared on TikTok earlier this month under the username @purturter, shows the fluffy tuxedo cat stomping up the stairs while moaning loudly and holding her birthday toy in her mouth.
"Bringing the birthday toy upstairs for dad," layover text displayed on the clip says.
A caption shared along with the video reads: "She was letting us know how upset she was over all the extra people over the house today."
Cats' behavior, particularly their seeming dislike for other people, can be attributed to a variety of factors.
The website Vet Explains Pets says that cats may express fear or stress in unfamiliar situations with aggression or avoidance. This, combined with their unique personalities, can make some cats more sociable and others more reserved.
Environmental factors can also play a part because cats are territorial and changes in their routine or environment can cause anxiety, leading to negative reactions. Past trauma can instill fear and mistrust, causing cats to react negatively toward strangers.
Some cats exhibit aggression as a form of self-defense, viewing unfamiliar people as potential threats. Others may form selective bonds with trusted individuals and remain aloof with everyone else.
Finally, signs of discomfort or illness can cause behavioral changes in cats, making them avoid social interactions or act aggressively.
The video quickly went viral on TikTok and has so far received over 2 million views and 354,000 likes.
One user, Amora Makenzee, commented: "I thought it was some old guy walking up the stairs in pain at first."
Ada said: "Why do cats do this?? my mum's cat does this with a stuffed mouse toy lol."

Another user, Su_z_q0.0, wrote: "Oh my sweet senior cat does this with her stuffed mouse when she thinks we're not around. If we make eye contact she drops it and walks away."
Marsh said: "She said 'that was too much socializing, never invite them over again, I can't handle the socializing stuff."
Tasha_Balasha asked the poster: "Is this the longlegs audio?"
The poster answered: "No this is just her you'll see her other videos screaming like this."
