Cat's Hilarious Apology Card After Biting Vet Delights Internet: 'Meanie'

A sassy cat from Anchorage, Alaska, has gained viral attention for her unique apology to her vet.

Nebula was at a checkup at the local veterinary office when she took exception to the situation and bit her vet, drawing blood.

"I was surprised and horrified that she bit the vet hard enough to draw blood. Why did she do it? She's sassy and doesn't always like being touched, let alone examined," Nebula's owner Aurora Lothbrok told Newsweek. "Everything has to be on her terms, and she was extra stressed to be at the doctor."

To make amends for the attack, Lothbrok decided to send a humorous apology card to the veterinary clinic. The card featured Nebula's apology and a picture of the cat herself. Lothbrok, who enjoys making personalized greeting cards, hoped it would bring a smile to the clinic's staff.

"I have a history of making funny greeting cards starring photos of brown bears. I thought it would be a fun way to show the vet how much they are appreciated and hopefully make them smile," Lothbrok said. "I love our veterinary clinic because they always take such good care of my pets. I'm not sure if they liked it, but I hope so."

Lothbrok shared the card on TikTok in a video that has more than 500,000 views.

"Nebula was a meanie, so she sent the vet a card. She bites," the caption said, and in the comments, people rushed to share their reactions to the apology card.

"She is in fact not sorry lol," said viewer April. User OpaqueSunflower said: "As a veterinarian this card would absolutely make my week!"

Another commenter who works in a vet office, JenniferTatum23, said: "I love this! We have a lady that when she has to bring her cat in sends us a huge basket of treats and bandaids."

Lothbrok initially started her TikTok account to promote her book, The Mermaid of Lake Superior, where Nebula also plays a character. But her cat's antics quickly became the star of her social media.

"I thought that folks would appreciate the humor of a sassy black cat who sends a funny card. Somehow I summoned all of vet-med TikTok and more to the party," Lothbrok said. "I was shocked the video has had so many views and such a positive response. Even Shutterfly, the company that printed the card, commented. It's great when you can turn something dreary into something to laugh about—and even inspire other bad cats to do the same."
