Puppy Gets into Glitter Tub, Outcome Is Exactly as Expected: 'Mr. Sparkle'

The aftermath of a puppy getting into a foster mom's makeup had viewers cracking up while she was left to clean up a glittery mess.

An out-of-the-ordinary shimmer in TikTok user @pawrudd's home caught her attention. When she investigated further, she found that her 11-week-old foster puppy, Milo, got into her makeup. She told Newsweek via TikTok it was her Fenty diamond veil highlighter. People use highlighters as a way to reflect light and brighten their faces.

However, for the pup, it did more than reflect light. He shined bright like a diamond, earning him the nickname of Mr. Sparkle. In her September 13 TikTok video, she got closer to Milo, who, ashamed of being caught, sat with the product. The damage was already done. His entire body was covered in glitter.

As soon as she started talking to Milo, he pranced around the room showing off his new makeover. The floors, his paws and his fur all had a distinct shimmer. But his nose especially took to the highlighter; the camera's flash reflected directly off of it.

Her dog, Zeus, barked in opposition. Milo didn't normally look like a glittery puff ball, and knowing that, Zeus thought the pup might get in trouble. He steered clear of perhaps getting linked to the commotion.

The video amassed more than 1.5 million views, 176,000 likes and 2,736 comments as of Monday.

"He wanted to feel BONITA!" said a viewer, while another chimed in: "He is so proud of himself!!"

Others expressed they know all too well the headache associated with this mess, preparing the foster mom that she might discover glitter in her home for months, maybe years, to come. One owner shared their dog did something similar and "💩 out sparkly shiny nuggets for days."

Thankfully, she learned rather quickly that the product comes off with makeup remover, but he's still covered in it, as are her floors, she told Newsweek.

On the bright side, it looks like a metaphor for the life ahead of him. Milo was rescued when he was 7 weeks old after he was thrown out of a moving car with his doggy sister, who didn't survive. Milo is being fostered through the Houston SPCA.

"He's regrowing his hair as the previous people who had neglected him, he had a really bad skin infection and respiratory issues," she said.

Luckily, he's "totally fine" and she hopes to add another doggy sibling to keep him company. And then soon enough he'll be adopted by his forever family. His life will continue to shine after having a heartbreaking start.
