Polka-Dot Puppy Watches '101 Dalmatians' With Owner in Matching PJs

Hearts have melted over a tiny dalmatian puppy that became completely absorbed in watching a movie with her owner.

That movie? Well, 101 Dalmatians of course.

Fashion designer Perla Montan, 23, who lives in Massachusetts, told Newsweek she "often" catches her puppy watching TV when the family has it on. And while they sometimes play cartoons for her, "she's more interested in music."

"I put on the 2019 biopic Bohemian Rhapsody for her, and she just seems to love Queen," Montan said. "Which is good news for our household."

Puppy Norma Jeane joined Montan's family just a few weeks ago and is already the boss of the house, as seen in a viral video shared to the account @perlamontan on August 26.

It shows Norma Jeane splayed out on the sofa, looking content as can be and relaxing beside a well-loved dog toy.

As the movie begins, Norma Jeane looks up in interest, watching the screen closely as it shows the beginning credits of the classic Disney animated hit.

Montan then joins her pup on the sofa, dressed up for the occasion in dalmatian-spotted pajamas. Norma Jeane didn't take her eyes off the screen as the characters were introduced.

The 1961 animated film tells the story of dognappers led by the iconic Cruella de Vil, who steals multiple litters of dalmatian puppies to turn them into coats, which could be a scary watch for a Dalmatian pup.

But Montan said in the caption: "We stopped before Horace and Jasper took the puppies."

The American Kennel Club says dalmatians are known for their affectionate but dignified nature and are popular as pets, watchdogs and working dogs, such as with firefighters. In fact, Montan told Newsweek the family lives next to a fire station.

TikTok users loved the video of Norma Jeane watching the movie, and within a few weeks it had racked up over 225,000 views, 35,000 likes and hundreds of comments. The Walt Disney Animation Studios account called it "a paw-fect viewing party."

"My Dal also loves 101 Dalmatians," one commenter said, while another called the puppy "precious."

Another wrote: "I love this movie and want a Dalmatian puppy someday too! Also your Jammie's are great!"

Speaking about her spotted pajamas, Montan told Newsweek that, as a fashion designer, she plans on "making more" to match with her pup.

Norma Jeane joined Montan's family after their dogs Pixie and Chewie, aged 15 and 13, died this year.

Montan was delighted by the huge reaction to the puppy on TikTok and other social media. "She brings so much light to all of our lives, and I'm happy that other people get to enjoy her as well."

Away from social media, Norma Jeane is popular with neighbors and passersby, as the pup "loves greeting people at our fence. She waits at the edge for people to pass by."

Montan added: "She's a favorite amongst the people who walk by our house, and we're at the point where people ask if she's out so they can see her."
