Reason Why Woman Living On Farm Never Gets 'Bored' Delights
A woman from Texas was getting bored watching TV at home alone, but then she remembered she lives on a farm and immediately got herself busy catering for her animals, in a video that has gone viral on social media.
And she told Newsweek how she feels so blessed to have this lifestyle.
The heart warming clip, shared on TikTok in July, under the username @kasssmendez, shows the poster getting up from the couch and making formula for her baby goats before bottle feeding them.
Then she goes out in the yard, feeding her chicken and the piglets, who can be seen joyfully splashing in the mud.
"POV: You're bored but suddenly remember you literally live on a farm," says a caption shared along with the viral clip.
The poster, Kassandra Mendez, told Newsweek that she's been living on the land with her family and her boyfriend, Zack for the past three years and they "absolutely love" the lifestyle.
"Not only do I get to have my own home on the land but I also get to see my family daily and for that I am truly blessed. We currently have 1 horse, 4 piglets, 12 chickens, 4 roosters, 7 sheep, 6 goats, 5 baby chicks, 1 cat, 4 dogs and hopefully many more animals to come," she said.
Talking about all the social media interest that she has received following her viral posts, she said that she would never have imagined that people would be interested in their little farm and adventures, and she's very grateful that they are. "Thank you all for all the love and support!" she added.
Psychology Today explains that spending time in nature benefits people, children especially, in myriad ways.
"Young people who spend time in nature are smarter, happier, calmer, healthier, and less anxious than those who spend most of their time indoors. They're more confident, more resilient, more curious, and more creative. They're better at problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership," the website says.
Time outdoors also leads to more environmental awareness by helping youngsters understand their place in the ecosystem.
The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 4.3 million views and 768,200 likes on the platform.
One user, Doryyytoe, commented: "The little goats running toward you so cuteeeee."
Stephanie Gonzalez said: "If I lived like this I would never leave."
LuckycharmASMR added: "Wow this seems like a nice life to live."
