Couple Spend Whole Week Decorating Bedroom in Their HomeâFor Their Dogs
We all like to think we're giving our pets everything they want, but one couple has amazed the internet by revealing just how far they went to give their pups the ultimate bedroom.
After moving into their home in Utah earlier this year, Serena Stadler and her husband Brett always dreamed of creating a dedicated room just for their two chihuahuas, Madi and Remi. With an entire closet full of clothes and accessories, baskets of toys, and their own little dog houses where they sleep, Stadler told Newsweek that "it just felt right" to give them a room to themselves.
But this was no simple bedroom with a few stuffed toys and a bed in the corner. The couple spent a week decorating and putting everything together. They started by paneling the walls, adding a special paw print wallpaper, and building the new furniture.
"I knew I wanted to create a dedicated room for Madi and Remi as they're our children, so I wanted to design a space where they can play, sleep, and even get dressed up," Stadler said. "With all the dog supplies I've accumulated, it only made sense to have a space just for them—somewhere special that reflects how much they mean to us.
"The entire design of the room revolved around this adorable brown paw print wallpaper I found online. My absolute favorite detail is the bone-shaped handles we added to the drawers—it transformed a basic white dresser into something special and playful. We also added cozy beds, storage for all their toys and accessories, dog portraits."
One of the most critical aspects for Stadler was to create a space where her pups would "love to spend time," and she certainly accomplished that. Madi, 14, and Remi, 10 months, can't get enough of their new bedroom and get so excited about going in there.
"I wanted the space to feel gender-neutral since Madi is a girl and Remi is a boy, and as someone who loves neutral tones, sticking with soft beige shades felt perfect," she said.
"Each morning, I wake them up in their little dog houses and pick out their outfits from the closet. It's become a fun routine, and they really enjoy having a place of their own."
In the couple's previous home, the dog beds were in the office, so they didn't have the privilege of having their own room. But now, Stadler has fulfilled her dream of creating the perfect dog bedroom, and she hopes to continue transforming the house with more renovations.
She shared footage of the room makeover on social media (@thestadlerfam), and it left the internet astonished. In just a few days, the video has amassed over 419,000 views and more than 56,400 likes on TikTok, as social media users hailed the incredible transformation.
"The reaction on social media has been amazing," Stadler told Newsweek. "A lot of people said they were inspired to create one for their own pets. It's been so fun to see the excitement, and I love being able to inspire other pet owners.
"This was our first big project in the house, and it definitely won't be the last. We have lots of plans to make the whole house more dog-friendly, and we can't wait to share the process with our audience."
TikTok users have hailed the idea of designing a room just for their pets, leading to over 400 comments already.
One comment reads: "Stop, I'm crying. You are the best mom."
Another TikToker wrote, "pray for my husband's wallet because I will be doing this for my fur babies."
"Ok now I need a room for my dogs," a commenter joked.
