How Owner Discovered Cat Was Living a Double Life at the Neighbor's House

A woman delighted the internet after revealing on TikTok that she had found out that her cat was leading a double life.

CJ is undoubtedly spoiled with love and attention at home with the family. However, as an outdoor cat who gets to explore, he's found he can get all of that times two.

In @thejessica.henry's July 31 TikTok video, she walked toward CJ to confront him about her discovery of his second life with a second family. This whole time, CJ had been cozying up with the neighbors. He has a bed, a spot in the window to come and go as he pleases and special kitty treats. The neighbor and CJ have become best friends.

Unashamed of his actions, he sat there, taking in the confrontation. Based on the caption, "CJ is his given name, oreo is step name," it sounds like this cat has been playing both neighbors to reap the rewards.

CJ's desire to go from house to house is not uncommon for cats. An article from the pet website Cuteness noted that it's not because your cat doesn't love you. It's to satisfy their instinctual desire to roam. Many cats will want to patrol the area to ensure no threats are lurking.

Attracted to new sites, sounds or smells, cats will get the urge to wander. Some friendly cats will also be drawn to humans who pay attention to them, which might lead to them starting a second life. This is especially true when someone offers them a head scratch, food and water.

"My neighbor's cat has 2 beds in my house and tons of toys treats and food. The neighbors think he's an outdoor cat when really he's sleeping at my house," another TikTok user wrote.

In CJ's situation, someone said the cat was "having his cake and eating it too!"
