Rescue Cat Finds Forever Home With Two Unlikely Friends: 'Inseparable'
A cat who was one of 78 animals rescued from a hoarding house has finally found a loving home where he's found happiness with two unlikely canine friends, and his new owner told Newsweek of his amazing recovery.
For the first three years of his life, Mo was neglected and had to endure terrible conditions. But in 2018, all the cats and dogs were rescued from the house and Mo was able to start a new chapter after being adopted by Hannah Fowler of Le Roy, Minnesota.
Fowler told Newsweek that Mo was "in pretty bad shape" and required emergency surgery as well as treatment for an infection he'd developed. While she hoped he'd settle into his new home, she realized that he was so accustomed to having other animals around and he became "extremely lonely" as the only pet. Rather than getting another cat, Fowler decided to get a puppy instead, and it couldn't have turned out better.

"They bonded on day one as Mo kept hopping in Lincoln's play pen. I would take him out and he would hop right back in," Fowler said.
"From that day on, they have been inseparable. Mo helped raise the golden, they adapted play styles so they could play together. My golden puppy nibbles on the cat to show his affection and to groom him."
After seeing how well her rescue cat and golden retriever puppy were getting along, Fowler started to think about adding another dog to their friendship. She wanted Lincoln to have "a buddy to run around with," and it would also be great for Mo to have another friend to cuddle up to. If ever Lincoln was occupied or wanted space, it would be great to have another four-legged friend in the house.

Fowler loved the idea of getting a Labrador as they can have a very playful nature, but are also very calm and gentle. Before long, the duo became a trio and Ronan the Labrador joined the family.
"Ronin has been such an amazing fit, and the cat loved him right away," Fowler said. "Mo is always crashing his naptimes for some cuddles, and Lincoln finally has a buddy he can play rough with.

"The trio is constantly together, and the cat is the glue that keeps it all going. His affinity towards the two dogs is insane. He's a dog magnet, or a stage 5 clinger if you ask me."
Although a cat and two dogs might not be the conventional idea of friends, Fowler loves seeing the bond they share and has even created a dedicated TikTok account (@3orangebros) to keep their followers up to date with their antics.
A video posted on August 19 detailing the background behind Mo's rescue and his friendship with the two dogs went viral with over 276,300 views and more than 56,100 likes so far. Fowler has been delighted by the positive reaction online as TikTok users were so moved by the bond that the inseparable trio share.
Fowler told Newsweek: "Mo loves his two dogs, and he is their dad after all. His boys constantly reciprocate that love by allowing him privileges they wouldn't allow others, like Mo can invade their personal space, get close to their bones, and steal their food. They also nibble, lick, and cuddle the cat, and I feel so lucky to call them mine."
The TikTok clip has amassed over 290 comments since going viral, with many social media users praising the unlikely friends for putting their differences aside and saving each other.
One comment reads: "Mo has an emotional support dog."
Another TikTok user wrote: "He's so sweet, the dogs totally know he needs them [and] they love him too. Sweet little family you built."
While another person commented: "Most adorable triplets I've ever seen."
