Hysterics As Persian Cat Can't Even Recognize Sister After Drastic Haircut

We all look different after a new haircut, but a cat from Massachusetts was so transformed after coming home from the groomers that not even her sibling was able to recognize her.

A hilarious video shared on TikTok on Wednesday, under the username @kging0223, shows Jessica sitting on the floor in the living room, flaunting her new lion style haircut as she waits for her sister to say something.

However, Maisie not only did not recognize her sister, but she also seemed to be somehow scared of her new haircut, arching her body and backing away as if she was a big threatening strange cat.

"When you don't notice your sister after a haircut," reads a caption shared along with the viral video.

While short-haired cats are generally good at keeping their fur cleaned and tidy, those with long fur, like the Persian in the clip, may need a hand getting their grooming done.

According to RSPCA, to make grooming a nice experience for your cat, you can use praise and treats to create a positive association. You should immediately end the session if you notice your cat showing any signs of discomfort, such as twitching or growling.

Long-haired cats require daily grooming to prevent knots, and you can help them using a wide-toothed comb, following the natural direction of hair growth while paying attention not to get too close to their skin. Remember to always end with praise and a reward to make this process more appealing to them.
