Kunekune pigs, known for their docile nature, are closely tied to the Māori people of New Zealand. The breed's name "kunekune" comes from the Māori language, meaning "fat and round," according to the Smithsonian's National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute, which is a fitting description for these small, barrel-shaped pigs.

Kunekune pigs were on the brink of extinction by the mid-20th century, with only around 50 purebred pigs remaining at one point. However, conservation efforts helped revive their population, and they are now found in the United States and beyond, notes the Smithsonian.

In addition to their endearing physical traits, kunekunes are known for their intelligence, social behavior, and affinity for human interaction, making them a popular choice for farms like the O'Connells'.

As noted by the Smithsonian, "kunekune pigs are very social animals" and "are known for being intelligent, playful, and affectionate."

'So Precious'

The playful video resonated with TikTok users, who flocked to the comments to share their excitement about the impromptu farm additions.

User DaisyDreamz91 commented: "KUNE KUNE!! love these guys!!" while another user, courtneyardister, wrote: "Omg they are so precious!"

Some viewers were even caught off guard by the pigs' appearance, with user kenny saying: "I thought they were corgis."

Others praised the man's enthusiasm for farm life, with Musicmedley99 calling his gesture a "green flag" and yreesch saying it was the "greenest flag everrr."

TikTok users couldn't get enough of the pigs' antics in the video, particularly their leisurely ride in the wheelbarrow.

Janie Marie Neary commented: "The way they just enjoyed their wheelbarrow ride," while another user, Raysweirdfarm, pointed out: "The legs up in the air in the wheelbarrow," capturing the relaxed and content vibe of the two new farm members.

User299388445 said: "Pigs are the best! They are just like dogs and have the best personalities. I love mine."
