Owner Speaks via Pet Cam for the First Time, Cat's Reaction Is Priceless

A cat owner tried talking her pet through a camera for the first time while he was home alone, and was left in stitches by the feline's reaction.

Black and white cat Milo is utterly adored by his owner, and has a TikTok account, @milothecowcatt, dedicated to his antics.

A recent clip of the pet has now gone viral, with millions of views and over 1.4 million likes, showing Milo's shocked reaction to hearing his owner's voice through a camera.

Shared on September 26, it shows Milo sniffing at the camera, while in a room that looks entirely made for him: cat trees, a litter box, a small comfortable chair and paw-shaped rugs.

As his owner calls to him through the pet camera, Milo gets up close and starts sniffing at it. She laughs, and tells him: "I'm going to be home soon, OK?"

At this, Milo sits back straight on his haunches, and stares at the camera, almost looking as though he is standing up like a human.

His owner can't help but laugh again, and lets out a belt of giggles, before saying goodbye to him with an "OK."

She shared the clip to TikTok with the caption: "Ignore my sweet talk but this is so funny" and wrote on the video: "POV: You talk through your pet cam for the first time."

TikTok users loved Milo's reaction and flocked to the comments in their thousands to share their thoughts, one writing: "Their sniff sounds are always hilarious."

One joked Milo was asking: "Where's the rest of ya?"

Another admitted they couldn't speak to their pet through the camera because she "screams when she hears me and I felt so bad I couldn't do it again."

"THE STANCE," one said in reference to the cat striking a pose, while a different user referred to the sweet cat room by writing: "Why does this cat have a room bigger than mine."

"Does that kitty have their own room?" one asked, to which his owner responded, confirming: "Yes. He's spoiled."

Her TikTok account shows she also has another cat, a smokey gray kitten called Tuna, and she regularly shares videos of her pets playing, sleeping or relaxing in their very own rooms.

While cats are known to like their space and be territorial, two cats in one household can easily learn to get along and become friends. The Animal Humane Society advises keeping a new cat and resident cat in different rooms at first, allowing them to get used to each others' scents and presence.

When allowed to meet, they should be watched carefully, and separated if they begin to fight. Owners should provide supervised encounters for the cats until they are settled with one another, the AHS says.
