Woman Applauded for Rescuing 'Dumped' Dog From Abandoned Roadside Camp

A woman named Kiersten is being praised online for rescuing a dog she found
"dumped" in a makeshift roadside camp.

The rescue, documented in a viral TikTok video by Kiersten under the username @kierstenlynnb, has garnered more than 946,000 views since it was shared to the social media platform on September 9. The heartwarming footage shows the dog, found alone amid scrap metal and shopping carts near a highway.

Viewers were able to see Kiersten, from Houston, who became the dog's savior, stumble upon the dog in an unsettling scene on the side of the road. The animal appeared to have been abandoned in a homeless camp, surrounded by scattered debris, including discarded trolleys and rusty metal parts.

The video's text overlay reads: "When you find a dog dumped in the woods living at an abandoned homeless setup. I couldn't leave him."

TikTok users witnessed her returning to the site to retrieve the dog after initially driving past, admitting that she couldn't stop thinking about him.

As the video progresses, the dog is seen cautiously approaching Kiersten's car, his initial uncertainty giving way to trust. In a subsequent clip, the dog is seen sitting comfortably in the back seat of her car, his demeanor visibly more relaxed. The rescue culminates in scenes of the canine arriving at Kiersten's home where he is introduced to her own dog.

The once-abandoned pet is then seen playing, his newfound comfort and safety apparent as he engages with his new companion.
