In the comment section of another video, Rocket's owner, who lives in Houston, Texas, offered a bit of insight into his hilarious stair-hopping, explaining in one comment: "He used to watch me hop down the steps." Little did they know, this habit would turn their dog into an internet sensation with many fans.

One user said: "No matter how many times I watch this guy stomp down those stairs, [I] not only giggle but fall in love with him more," and another wrote: "this corgi can do tap dancing on the stairs."

While Rocket clearly has no trouble navigating the stairs with his agile, young body, his viral video brings attention to a significant issue for many dogs as they age: mobility challenges.

As dogs grow older, the stairs that were once a fun or easy part of their day can become difficult to manage. The American Kennel Club (AKC) advises that senior dogs, as well as those suffering from arthritis or other mobility issues, may need extra support in the form of dog stairs or ramps. Even smaller dogs or breeds with short legs and long bodies, such as corgis and dachshunds, can benefit from such aids. Rocket may be a healthy and sprightly corgi now, but as he ages, he may require assistance to continue moving around comfortably.

Dog stairs or ramps are designed to make life easier for dogs who struggle with joint pain or have trouble climbing, whether it's to reach the sofa, bed, or even get into the car. These products ensure that dogs don't have to strain themselves or risk injury while performing daily tasks. As Rocket's routine shows, stairs are easy to manage for younger dogs or those who still have balance and agility. But if a dog begins to show signs of difficulty maneuvering steps, or lives in a single-story home where they aren't used to stairs, a ramp may be a better choice. A ramp with a gentle incline can make movement easier and reduce the strain on joints.
