Moment Man Finds 3 Kittens in His Home After Hurricane Milton: 'A Sign'
A man's delight at finding three kittens sheltering in his home in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene has melted the hearts of viewers online.
Joel Moore-Hagan, a Georgia resident, had been clearing up his home following the catastrophic effects of the recent storm, which affected large parts of the southeast. Unbeknownst to Moore-Hagan, his property, which had been overrun by debris and dirt following the extreme weather, had also become the hiding place for three kittens.
The content creator, who regularly takes to TikTok with home-renovation updates on his @moorehisstyle account, shared a video of his secret lodgers on October 15. The post has since been viewed more than 1.2 million times.
Newsweek contacted @moorehisstyle for more information via TikTok and email. We could not verify the details of the case.
"I was minding my business cleaning up our house when something in the corner caught my eye," text overlaid on the video said.
The clip shows Moore-Hagan sweeping up debris that had made its way into his 1950s home. The creator previously shared on his account that he divides his time between the southern state and New York. The video then shows the three kittens cowering in a corner, behind a few planks of wood and even more debris. Two of the kittens have orange fur, while one is gray, and they all appear to be from the same litter.
Moore-Hagan joked that two of the kittens resembled the kittens his husband grew up with as a child. The pair then re-created a childhood photo of the man holding up the kittens.
Overlaid text said: "We had to recreate the photo. Is it a sign?"
Moore-Hagan said in the post that the couple was "highly considering keeping the little grey one."
The clip has received more than 265,000 likes, with viewers gushing over the rescue and applauding Moore-Hagan and his partner for supporting the three kittens while they find permanent homes. Some commenters also urged the couple to adopt all three.
"It's a sign! Keep all three," one viewer said.
Another added: "Aww. The sweet babies."
"The beauty in the face of such adversity you guys are phenomenal," another said. "Oh yes, please keep all 3, they were sent to raise your spirits."
