Woman Never Gets Lonely Living by Herself, Heartwarming Reason Goes Viral
A dog owner from Florida explained why she never gets bored living by herself, with a viral TikTok video that has melted hearts among millions of viewers.
The clip shared in August under username @lilbeefie, shows the young woman playing fetch and then hide-and-seek, with her three-legged pup, Chica, who, despite her disability, is an incredibly energetic and playful dog.
The black Labrador retriever can be seen running around the living room with a toy in her mouth, frenetically trying to find her mom to win the game. "Don't you get lonely living alone?" reads a layover text in the clip, while the poster has the best time playing with her pup in the background.
Dogs not only enjoy every single minute of play time with their owners, they also need it for both their physical and mental well-being.
Certified dog trainer Cathy Madson says in an article shared by Preventive Vet that dogs need between 30 minutes and two hours of exercise every day to stay healthy and in good spirits, although the exact amount they need can vary based on factors such as their age, size, and breed.
Even though young puppies may be very energetic, their bones and bodies are still developing, and so they should not exercise for too long. Senior dogs may also have trouble exercising due to age-related health conditions.
Meanwhile adult dogs, especially larger breeds, require a lot of physical activity to keep in good shape. However, each dog is unique, so despite their age and breed, you should always listen to their needs and acknowledge their limits.
The American Kennel Club says there are lots of fun games you can play with your dog, and they don't even have to be outdoors.
Some of the most-fun indoor games to play at home with your pup include hidden treasure hunt, hide-and-seek, obstacle course, and even obedience training, among others.
The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 14.9 million views and more than 3.6 million likes on the platform.
One user, Sincero, commented: "I don't live alone but this is fun doing."
