A golden retriever's way of welcoming the stray dog that their owner found and brought home has melted the hearts of viewers online.
The golden retriever, named Rosie, was captured comforting their newly-found stray sibling by their owner, who shared the moment to TikTok on October 30 under @kyqueenhomeandgardens. The video, which has been viewed more than 1.4 million times to date, shows the golden retriever offering the timid stray their favorite toy. The moving introduction has led to a flurry of positive comments from viewers online who have applauded the owner for bringing the stray home.

TikTok viewers were able to see the golden retriever sitting sadly before the stray, who appeared slumped on a couch. The female dog then offered the stray a toy carrot, and rested her head on the couch seat in a show of support. Clearly scared and unsure, the stray's apprehension was palpable, eliciting a wave of sympathy from viewers.
An overlaid text on the video read: "Rose bringing her favorite toy to comfort the stray I brought home last night, he's so sad, praying he gives us a chance, he won the family lottery and don't even know it yet."
"I brought home a stray and my best girl Rosie is distraught that he's so sad and scared," the pet owner said. "We don't know what to do but we really hope he gives us a chance to heal him with our love.
"Grooming and vet appointments scheduled. Any suggestions on how to help his depression appreciated."
They added in the comments section that the stray was with a big dog that had been hit and killed by a truck when found.
"My friend saved him but couldn't keep him…He's been [through] a lot," they said.
The video quickly resonated with TikTok users, inspiring a flood of emotional comments. Some viewers recounted their own experiences with pet adoption and the remarkable bonds that formed between their pets, echoing the sentimentality of the moment.
"Dogs are just the best. Who knows what that baby's been through," one viewer said. "Thank you for saving him."
"The healthiest thing for him is to be around a stable dog. Your dog will teach that dog how to 'dog' faster than anyone else ever could," another added.
"Rosie even offered her carrot, what a sweet girl," another said.
Another added: "Just went through this myself. Adopted a beautiful girl that thought she was in trouble every time she heard her name. Two weeks gone and she's now my velcro dog. Your baby will come around soon."
