Hysterics as Dog Trainer Reveals How Pup Is Manipulating Owners
A poodle from St. Petersburg, Florida, named Bo has left the internet in stitches after his owners discovered that he's been manipulating them all along.
In a post shared to TikTok last week by Bo's owner, Stephanie Lipps, under the username @stephanielipps, the small pup can be seen looking at his owners with a sad face as if asking for help with the snack puzzle in front of him.
However, the golden-furred pup didn't get any help because his owners already knew what he was up to.
The video's text overlay reads: "Our dog trainer told us that our dog pretends like he can't do things or is scared just to manipulate us into doing it for him." The caption then reads: "11 lbs of pure manipulation."
Lipps told Newsweek that the 6-year-old toy poodle likes to pretend he is scared of things like puzzle toys to get them to do it for him.
"He's incredibly smart!" she said.
According to WebMD in an article from 2021, dogs have an intelligence similar to that of a toddler, and on average can learn and recognize between 100 and 200 words. So don't be surprised when your dog remembers words like "bone" or "snack."
Our canines are so clever that they can even do math. The American Kennel Club (AKC), explains that dogs can do more than simple counting. In fact, they can also do simple addition and subtraction.
"The ability to count and do simple arithmetic might seem to be a superfluous skill for dogs, but it is a useful ability," the AKC wrote on its website. "For example, it is necessary for a female to know if all of her pups are present or if one of them had somehow gone astray and requires a search-and-rescue mission to be launched."

The video quickly went viral on TikTok and has so far received over 2.2 million views and 319,800 likes on the social media platform.
