Dog 'Not Warming Up To Motherhood' Gets Hilarious Lecture From Owner
A Shih Tzu called Missy has become an internet sensation after a TikTok video posted by her owner blew up on social media.
The viral clip, shared on Sunday under the username ucancallmevee, showcases Missy in a humorous skit, engaging in a mock conversation with her owner about her new puppies.
The owner can be heard playfully saying: "Missy why are your babies over here and you over there? It's time to woman up baby, the fun is over! No more going outside to play, no more running up and down, no baby! That's your new job right there!"
The poster, Victoria Tyler, told Newsweek: "The TikToks are all skits, I don't really speak to my dogs that way...it's just pretty funny mimicking things I've heard my mom, aunts, and grandmother say growing up."
Addressing the future of the puppies, Tyler shared a bittersweet reality many pet owners face when managing a large litter. "It's just not realistic to keep all eight, even though we really want to. We will be rehoming the puppies," she said. This decision reflects a responsible approach, ensuring each puppy finds a loving home.
Amidst the viral fame, Victoria opened up about the deeper connection she shares with Missy, who was a present from her husband during what was a really dark and scary time for her.
"I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis so severe it resulted in me having a total colectomy leaving me with a permanent ostomy bag. Missy and Elliot are my emotional support animals. They bring me so much joy," she said.
Advice from the American Kennel Club underscores the natural maternal instincts in dogs like Missy. A canine mother's bond with her puppies is not only instinctual but crucial for imparting necessary social skills and behaviors. As Missy's puppies prepare to find new homes, the careful consideration of their well-being reflects the nurturing they received from their first moments.
The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 3.3 million views and 290,000 likes on the platform.
One user, pinkfashionista22, commented: "Missy ready to leave them kids at they grandma house."
Deedeesfelinesrescue said: "She said you didn't spay me, you can take care of the grandkids. I didn't ask for this." And Zukera Moss added: "Missy said she's teaching them how to self soothe."
