Woman Looks Out Window, Shocked to See Unusual Neighbor Moving in Next Door

A woman from North Carolina has shocked the internet after revealing that some new neighbors settled in their home only 10 feet away from her house—and they sure weren't who she was expecting.

In a video shared on TikTok on Thursday by @lindsay.eager, the poster can be heard saying, "he's digging a hole under a tree," as a huge brown bear in the clip makes himself at home, a little too close for comfort.

"Oh, my God. He's making a bed! He just made a damn bed under our tree, by our back door, which is right there," she says as the bear works to get more comfortable.

A caption reads: "The moment you realize they are settling into their new 'home' 10 feet from the door you use to enter your house!"

While bear attacks are rare, they can and do happen, which is why you should exercise caution around them. A paper published by WebMD explains that if a bear has noticed you and looks interested, there are things you can do to de-escalate the situation.

The first thing to do is stay calm. Do not run away, as this can make the bear think you're prey. If you're in a group, gather everyone together and pick up any small children.

You can try talking to the bear calmly so it knows you're human and back away slowly, trying to avoid any unnecessary interaction.

"If the bear starts to approach you, make yourself as big as possible by stretching your arms over your head and make loud noises," the website explains.

If the bear charges at you and you have bear spray (and know how to use it), do so to deter it.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok, so far garnering 1 million views and 87,100 likes on the platform.

One user, Tracy Rabbit, commented, "Well, we did all choose the Bear!!!! Seems appropriate for him to move in!"

"I mean have you seen the pricing of apartments these days," TikToker Sofragile7 wrote.

"My toxic trait is saying 'we can co exist' I'll use the other door," DragonflysMoon commented.
