Dog Hosts Birthday Party, Owner Makes 1 Thing So It's Extra Special

These dedicated dog owners create the perfect party game for their golden retriever's birthday party: a tennis-ball piñata filled with, you guessed it, tennis balls.

Ahead of Oscar's third birthday on November 19, the golden retriever's owners set to work on creating the best party games for him and his friends to enjoy. Oscar simply loves tennis balls, so it was a no-brainer that they had to center the idea around that. This inspired their genius creation of a giant tennis-ball piñata that would be filled with plenty more inside.

After working on the piñata and filling it with 20 tennis balls, Oscar's owners Aaja Pathak and Sabin Poudel, both 28, from Texas, brought it out during the party to see if the dogs could crack it open. The pups and their owners couldn't get enough of the idea, as Pathak told Newsweek that it was "the highlight of the day."

While the piñata was suspended from a string above, there was one tennis ball that dangled below it, which Oscar and his friends tried to pull. It took them plenty of attempts and a lot of teamwork, but after a few minutes, they finally managed to break the piñata open and discover what was hidden within.

"When we brought the piñata out, the pups were so excited, and our human guests were equally thrilled by it," Pathak said. "They quickly figured out how to do it, and it took them about two minutes to open the piñata.

"When all the tennis balls poured out, they were so happy. Although there were 20 balls inside it, we could tell they all wanted the same one."

The piñata certainly went down a real treat, as all six dogs at the birthday party loved trying to get it open and chasing after the balls when they flew down. Much to his owners' delight, it was birthday boy Oscar who managed to finally get it open and reveal the contents inside.

Footage of the adorable party idea was shared on Oscar's social-media accounts (@worldofoscar7 on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube). The video went viral, and in just a matter of days, it has amassed over 3.3 million views and more than 324,000 likes on TikTok, and 4.7 million views on Instagram.

The online reaction has been beyond anything Oscar's owners were expecting, and they are so glad that this clip could share so much joy. They even shared a tutorial video to reveal exactly how they made the extra-special party game.

Pathak told Newsweek: "It has been crazy, and the love from all over the world has been so overwhelming. It also makes me really happy to see how loved Oscar is, and we're so thankful to everyone for that. We started Oscar's social media as a memory book for us, and it eventually turned into spreading smiles."

With over 550 comments on the viral TikTok post already, many social-media users hailed the genius party idea that gave the dogs so much enjoyment.

One comment reads: "every dog's dream."

Another TikTok user wrote: "the way they knew what to do!"

A third commented: "This is insanely adorable! What lucky puppers!"
