Internet Obsessed With Dog Owner's Elaborate Bed Set-Up for 'Bestie'

Users on TikTok have fallen head over heels for one dog owner's touching display of love and devotion to her furry best friend.

In a viral TikTok video that was posted last week, Rhiannon Paterson (@rhiannon.paterson) is seen meticulously setting up her dog's sleeping area that would rival the coziest of human sleeping setups.

Pookie's fluffy bed comes with its own bed frame, mattress and headboard for maximum comfort. To take things to the next level, Paterson treats her "bestie" to a perfectly-sized brown and white checkered duvet and matching pillows to go on top of his new bed.

The star of the show appears to be the marshmallow dog bed from Ineshi, according to the details in the video, tagging the Australian homeware brand in her caption.

"POV. You got your bestie their own mini bed," the video's text overlay reads.

Paterson's video has so far managed to rack up over 22 million views and over 2 million likes.

Newsweek reached out to @rhiannon.paterson via email for comment. We could not verify details of the case.

Many complimented Paterson on the heights she's reached to ensure her pooch is comfortable, with some saying the expensive bed looks cozier than their own. On the other hand, many dog owners pointed out that their pups would show no interest in the bed and rather sleep in their bed instead.

"My dog would choose to sleep in a pair of pants I left on the floor," one TikTok user wrote, while another commented, "My dog would make me sleep there."

Dogs love sleeping in their owners' beds because it strengthens the bond they share with their human companions. As pack animals, dogs are hardwired to seek closeness with their family, whether canine or human.

Additionally, the smell of their owner can be soothing to dogs. Humans release pheromones and skin oils that dogs associate with familiarity and love.

"My dogs would say, yeah right and jump straight onto the bed," a third TikTok user jokingly wrote.

It's not clear what breed of dog Pookie is, but some TikTok users have guessed he looks like a Maltipoo—a mix of the Maltese and the miniature or toy poodle. Either way, his fluffy white curls blend into the fleece material perfectly as he tries the bed out for size.
