Cat Sneaks Into Home Through Pet Door, Fails Hilariously at Fitting In

A viral video of a random cat barging into a person's home quickly gained over 8.6 million views, leaving people in stitches over his actions.

While sitting on the couch in her November 28 video, TikTok user @kaylank4 saw the pet door swing open, fly off the hinges and land on the ground. In walks a stranger's black cat.

The cat poked his head through the opening, checking out the space before slowly going inside, one paw at a time. Although everyone knew he was out of place in the home, his cautiousness made him stand out even more.

The family's cats stood still with their eyes glued on this strange cat's every move as he walked through the pet door and into the living room. If he was trying to be sneaky, he failed miserably.

The video's caption reads: "I have no idea who he/she belongs to."

Confusion set in as the woman spotted a collar around his neck, a sign he must belong to someone. Plus, he looked comfortable enough to walk around, even if it was slowly.

She said in a follow-up video that her husband had fixed the pet door, which hadn't stopped the cat from returning. Instead of barging in, however, he waited for her to open the door.

In a December 6 clip, the woman said he came in for some food and left. He seemed very healthy otherwise. However, they have yet to find out who owns the cat. She's convinced he goes back to his home for a few days at a time.

TikTok viewers flooded the video with nearly 1.2 million likes and 19,000 comments. They couldn't get over his hilarious way of making himself blend in.

"The slow walk of shame," pointed out one viewer.

"To proceed to come in knowing you'll probably be attacked by the resident cats is bold," said another TikTok user

A third wrote: "Awww he realized he's in the wrong house and its too awkward to back down now! might as well pretend hes supposed to be there."

Newsweek reached out to @kaylank4 via TikTok for comment.
