Hilarious Moment Owner Realizes The Issue With Having a Projector and a Dog
A dog owner has left the internet in stitches after revealing the unexpected problem with having a projector in the same home as a golden retriever.
After wanting a bigger television screen for some time, Nicole McLean, 34, decided to take the leap and get a projector screen in her house. It offers a much better view, so she can finally see everything in a much grander scale—or at least that's what she hoped for.
One thing that she hadn't factored in was her golden retriever, named Mr. Moose, not realizing how a projector actually works. McLean, of Maryland, jokingly explained to Newsweek that her five-year-old pup climbs up onto the couch to get comfortable, but little does he know that "his big head gets in the way."
This was an unintended consequence that McLean didn't anticipate before buying the projector. Indeed, it happens every single night, and she's left watching her favorite shows with a silhouette of Mr. Moose's head taking up half the screen.
"Every night we have to tell him to move when he sits up on the couch," McLean said. "He blocks the screen every time. Eventually, he lays down, but seeing his big head on the screen always makes me laugh."
After having yet another television show interrupted by a Mr. Moose shadow-puppet performance, McLean couldn't resist sharing a hysterical video of it on TikTok (@mr.moose_waffles). The clip starts by showing the projector screen with a strange silhouette blocking one side, only for her to then pan the camera over to the golden retriever sitting upright on the couch. Even if he was affecting their viewing experience, he looked rather delighted with himself anyway.
Social media users love the hilarious video, and in just a matter of days, it's already generated more than 1.5 million views and 289,100 likes. Layered over the video, a caption reads: "The downside of having a projector screen sometimes."
Speaking about the online reaction, McLean told Newsweek: "Mr. Moose has been overwhelmed with all the feedback, and it's only enabled him to sit in front of the projector more. I only hope that all this fame doesn't get to his head."
Indeed, it blocks enough of the view already—she doesn't want it to get even larger.
While this has become a funny yet frustrating experience for McLean, internet users can't get enough of Mr. Moose not understanding the projector. The viral TikTok post has gained more than 570 comments at the time of writing, as many people insisted the clueless dog means well.
One comment reads: "Is the downside in the room with us?"
Another person wrote: "perhaps the projector is the one in the way."
"That's the type of cameo I like to see," one TikTok user joked.
While another social media user commented: "Looks like an upside to me. The best kind."
