Cat Owner Creates Timelaspe, Internet Unprepared for What She Captures

A cat owner from Missouri shared a video of her kitties cuddling in bed next to her, and internet users can't cope with the way they're all hugging each other.

The viral TikTok clip shared on Saturday under the username @potroastsmom, shows the poster reading in bed as her four cats hop on it one by one, all lying in the same spot, grooming each another.

The last kitten to jump, Banana, also known has BB, who is the youngest out of all of them, can initially be seen trying to lay on the poster's chest, before deciding to stick to her siblings instead.

"Formation of a cuddle puddle time-lapse," reads layover text in the clip.

The caption explained: "Who is the Velcro bottle baby super hard edition, I don't let her lay on my chest a lot as a kitten because eventually she'll be a big girl and confused when I don't want 9lbs on my chest. Teach them good adult behaviors while they are kittens!!! Also I was [trying] to read."

The poster, who asked to remain anonymous, told Newsweek that all of her cats were adopted, and they took their time to become so close to one another.

The poster's cats can be seen forming a "cuddle puddle" on the bed. A cat owner shared a video of her cats cuddling in bed and internet users can't cope with her cuteness. Her biggest cat is 2-year-old Coupon, who also goes by the name Soup. She fostered her in 2022 along with her litter, before deciding to keep her for good. Since then, Soup has helped her foster loads of other kittens, 16 of them recently.

The orange cat and the small tortoiseshell, Séance and Shriek, are littermates that she fostered earlier this year.

"I don't keep three kittens every kitten season, that would be bananas! This spring two of my cats passed and I didn't want Soup to be lonely. I have always said that great big love grows next to great big grief and it felt very fated that Soup and I fell in love with three kitties this year," she said.

She explained that the "cuddle puddle" she managed to film is actually a spontaneous behavior for her cats, and it's something that they do almost daily.

"I put a lot of time and effort into introducing the cats very, very slowly and ensuring that they are cat-social. Two things that are essential in creating friendly cats that love each other are: one, avoiding single kitten syndrome by adopting kittens in pairs, and two, introducing new cats to the household slowly, over a period of weeks or months."

The poster kept each new kitten separate for weeks before allowing them near the other cats safely, and according to Vets4Pets this is the best way the best way to introduce felines to each other.

It suggests setting up separate areas for the cats with everything they may need, including food, water, toys and their litter-box, so that they don't accidentally run into each other before being successfully introduced.

By practicing scent swapping, you can help them exchange information about one another, which will make their initial interactions easier.

Once they are familiar with their smell, you can introduce them face-to-face in a neutral area of the house. Make sure their interactions are fully supervised until you know they are 100 percent comfortable with one another.

"Losing territory is a huge deal to a cat, so they need time to adjust. We are on their schedule not the other way around. They did not immediately start cuddling when they first met, cats need time to build friendships just like people!" the poster added.
