Tears as Stray Cat Purrs for '3 Hours' After Being Let Inside From Cold

An outdoor cat's reaction to experiencing the warmth and comfort of a bed during winter has tugged at the heartstrings of viewers online.

The feline's content purrs were captured by the person who found him standing outside their house, and shared to TikTok on December 16 under @metalbarbie89. The post has been viewed more than 4.3 million times to date, eliciting emotional comments from viewers.

"This is an outside cat that just showed up, it's so cold outside, so I let him inside (probably for the first time in his life) and he won't stop purring," the video's creator said. "It's been like three hours," they added, and alluded to the cat distribution system in the caption. Newsweek reached out to @metalbarbie89 for more information via TikTok.

Viewers online were able to see the cat resting on top of a warm bed, purring gently and looking toward his rescuer. Almost 800,000 TikTok users have liked the post, while over 24,000 have left comments.

Several have shared their thoughts and opinions on the cat's origins and the care he needs. Others have praised the video's creator for welcoming the feline into their home, and have offered up their own support.

"This is not a feral cat. It had a home at some point, but someone must've abandoned him," one viewer posted. "He must've been so scared and cold and out of sorts. Please keep it."

Another added: "He's crying with joy. His eyes are all watery. He was inside once I bet and remembers."

"Cat is also purring when having pain. Get it to doctor for check up," a third commented.

Another comment read: "That was someone's baby. He's so happy to be inside and warm. Thank you."
