Hysterics As Golden Retriever Refuses Chips Without Dip

A dog owner from Charleston, South Carolina, shared a video of their "spoiled" dog refusing the eat chips without dip, leaving internet users across TikTok in stitches.

The viral post, shared in November under the username @goose_thegolden features a caption that says: "Tell me your dog is spoiled without telling me your dog is spoiled."

Pets in America are getting more spoiled every year, and the amount of money that we spend on them proves it. Data by Statista shows that in the last 30 years, the total pet industry expenditure has grown from $17 billion to $147 billion.

With 86.9 million families across the country owning a pet, nearly all of them (97 percent) consider them part of their family, and half, say they are as much a part of the family as a human member, according to a survey by Pew Research Center.

Pets are getting more presents than some people. About three in ten Americans buy Christmas presents for their pet according to data by YouGov, while only one in ten get gifts for their coworkers or neighbors.

Gen Zers and millennials are more likely to get their fur-babies a surprise for Christmas than the older generations.

American pet owners love their companions so much that more than half of them would be willing to pay over a thousand dollars to save them from a life-threatening ailment.

When YouGov asked pet owners if they would save their closest pet or a person from a sinking boat, about 43 percent of respondents said the person and at least 39 percent went with their closest pet.
