Crowd Looks on and Cheers as Tiny Dog Dives off Cliff Into the Sea
A tiny dog who needed some extra encouragement to follow its owner into the water received it in the form of cheers from dozens of strangers.
On June 16, TikTok user @tina_nto posted a video of a Jack Russell terrier barking and whining as it stands on the edge of a rock overlooking the ocean. Dozens of swimmers and sunbathers watch the pup intently after a man, apparently the dog's owner, takes the leap and dives into the sea.

The terrier hesitates for a moment, still barking in a high-pitched voice, then jumps into its owner's arms—and is rewarded by loud cheers from the crowd.
The video has received an emotional response online, collecting more than 11 million views and 2.3 million likes as animal lovers' hearts melted. Newsweek has contacted @tina_nto for comment via TikTok.
Thousands of viewers commented on the clip, with one writing, "His little tail spinning when he jumped."
Another said the dog "trusted him & immediately jumped in."
"I love how little things make me cry," another user wrote.
A commenter added: "The scenery, the dog, the weather, the people cheering. I WOULD BAWL MY EYES OUT."
The video was recorded at St. Peter's Pool beach, a popular spot for tourists and locals alike on the island of Malta.
Some dog breeds are more inclined to like water than others. For instance, the American water spaniel and Labrador retrievers were initially bred to hunt waterfowl. However, many dogs can learn to enjoy swimming if they are properly introduced to it.
Dogster advises to start a pup off in shallow, calm water, and if they appear distrusting, the owner should get in the water themselves and coax the dog toward them.
Owners can use rewards, stay close and take time before branching out to lakes, rivers and oceans to help their dogs develop a love of swimming.
Earlier this year, Remy, a miniature poodle naturally drawn to the water, went viral when his owner showed off her tiny pup's love of the rain.
A clip shared in March showed the pair out for a walk during a downpour, with Remy jumping in puddles and overflowing gutters. His owner told Newsweek: "The streets tend to flood here, and they create streams, which I like to think he sees as his little 'rivers.'"
