All cats need exercise to be healthy and happy, but how much of it they will need differs based on factors such as age, health conditions, personality and whether they are an indoor or an outdoor cat.

In general, cats require around 30 minutes of physical activity every day, according to cat-wellness experts Catster. Indoor felines will need to be actively encouraged to play to avoid boredom and all the naughty behaviors caused by it, such as scratching the couch or curtains, British animal charity, Blue Cross, says.

Outdoor cats usually spend enough time during the day exploring their neighborhood, so they may not need much play time when they are back home.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 7.8 million views and more than 568,000 likes on the platform.

One user, Brittacus, commented: "My cat does this too. Usually when she sees me put my shoes on, she'll jump into her carrier with her leash and relentlessly meow at me."

Valgarcmed1986 posted: "I regret never training my cat she's older now."

Meech__218 wrote: "Oh my goodness not only are those cats absolutely beautiful and Cherry so well trained. I can't believe they do that so beautiful I wish I would've thought of that myself."

Takoninja added: "I feel like Cherry would be a good candidate for button training, she clearly has a strong desire to communicate and does a great job telling you what she wants already!"
