The moment was captured on a video doorbell camera, and the owner, Nicole Campbell, shared the video on her TikTok page alongside the caption: "Caught this sweet interaction with my dog and the FedEx man."

Saban the dog, named after famed college football coach Nick Saban, has been a cherished member of the Campbell family since 2016. He was found as a stray by Campbell's husband at his job site and soon became a beloved companion.

"Delivery drivers interact with him all the time, but this is the first time we caught it on our doorbell camera," Campbell told Newsweek. "This was the first time I've seen an interaction between this particular FedEx driver and Saban. My heart melted when I saw the video. Saban is such a sweet, gentle soul, and I love whenever someone matches his gentleness."

As the driver in the video put the package down on a nearby bench, he looked at Saban and said; "Don't tear up the box while I'm gone, OK?"

He smiled as he took a delivery confirmation picture—featuring Saban, of course—and headed off, telling the dog: "See you later, be good."

Viewers were delighted by the interaction and shared their responses in the comments.

"So sweet," said one commenter, while another wrote: "Why is this video making me teary eyed?"

A spokesperson for FedEx told Newsweek: "FedEx is proud of the many contributions our team members make to our communities every day. We appreciate the interactions of this team member with a customer's pet."

Campbell was amazed that the video gained viral attention. She explained: "Honestly, I shared the clip to show my family and was very surprised with how much attention it received and how it made others smile."

While the family hadn't been able to speak to the FedEx driver, they were thrilled by the way he treated their beloved pet on his rounds.
