Woman Wakes Up With Hangover, Shocked To Find She's Not Alone in Bed

After a night of partying, a hangover isn't the only thing Harriet Coombs woke up with.

The Londoner, who is currently traveling alone around South America, has shared the moment she woke up to a furry friend in her hostel bed. Racking up 242,000 views, the TikTok video shows the 34-year-old rubbing her eyes before the camera flips to a cat.

"She slept on her back and looked as hungover as I did!" she said.

Coombs told Newsweek that she went to a party until 4 a.m. and went straight to bed. Then she woke up at around 9 a.m. to find a cat on the other side of the mosquito net.

The footage also reveals that the balcony door was open, providing a view of the jungle and an easy way in for the animal.

"I came back and went straight to bed—alone again," she told Newsweek, referencing a similar experience we discussed back in May. Previously, she went viral on TikTok after sharing a similar situation. She spoke to Newsweek about the moment a dog slept in her bed while she was glamping in Nicaragua.

An extract from her most video caption says: "I swear I'm not trying to make waking up with strange animals in my bed my entire personality."

In the comment section, she wrote: "I must be so inviting. It was an 8 bed dorm as well but he chose me."

She later discovered that the feline named Mamacita belonged to the hostel located on a steep hill in the jungle of Buritaca, North Colombia.

Coombs told one user that she was looking forward to "hungover snuggles" but soon realized the cat wasn't keen. She told another user: "I opened the net so she could come in but she lost interest. I think she liked having her part of the bed separate to me."

At the time of writing, the video shared to @harriet_coombs has more than 47,000 likes and over 200 comments.

"The way he is sleeping as if he has known you for his whole life," said one user.

Another joked: "[Girl], he wants that VISA whatever it takes."

"Oh I love this recurring storyline for you," said a third commenter.

A fourth comment said: "That's a dream!!! Best thing that could ever happen!" and another user agreed: "I'd be waking up with the biggest smile ever."

Another traveler has also shared her experience, she said: "I had the same issue on Saturday haha but with a monkey. Colombian hostels are way too close to nature."
