Most Adorable Reason Vets Gather Round Table as 'Elusive' Puppies Born
The reaction of a group of staff members at a veterinarian's office in West Virginia was caught on camera as they gathered around to witness a rare event—a greyhound giving birth to a litter of puppies.
In a June 20 video on TikTok that has gained viral attention with more than 651,000 views, the Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital, @crosslanesvet, shared footage of the team stood around in the veterinary room.
"Want to guess why everyone is gathered around?" the TikTok caption teased, before adding: "One of our patients needed a C-section... that means puppies need to be delivered!"

The greyhound mom gave birth to six adorable puppies, prompting much attention from the vet staff in the room and from internet viewers.
"The ever elusive greyhound puppies!!!" Amber Downey posted, while Tar wrote: "I have never seen a greyhound puppy before. I knew they existed."
Others agreed that they had never seen a young version of the breed either. "Greyhound puppies?! They do exist!" commented viewer Molly.
Laken Lucas added: "I did not know that they were even a thing! I thought greyhounds just spawned in as adults."
Viewer Carri wrote: "I have never in my life witnessed a greyhound puppy and I used to work for a vet's office."
Greyhounds, recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1885, are the 127th most popular breed in the U.S.
Evidence of greyhound-type dogs dates back around 8,000 years to ancient civilizations in the Middle East. They were depicted in ancient Egyptian art, highly valued, often mummified and buried with pharaohs.
Greyhounds later became popular racing dogs. The sport was at its peak in the U.S. when it was named the country's sixth most popular sport in the country in 1991. It has since declined, but the lithe dogs are still famed for their speed, reaching up to 44 mph in short bursts.
Despite the breed's popularity, puppies are relatively uncommon compared to adult greyhounds. Most of those available for adoption are retired racing dogs around 2 to 5 years old. Finding a greyhound puppy if you are not in the racing world can be challenging, making them seem elusive.
