The golden retriever puppy's attempt to befriend the family cat involved the canine, named Otis, bringing his sibling a toy to play with. The moment, which his family has described online as a "peace offering," has been liked more than 425,000 times since it was shared to TikTok on May 28 under @otisthegolden2.
Viewers online were able to see Otis gently approaching the family's tabby cat with the toy. After presenting it, Otis respectfully kept his distance, lying down and waiting for the cat to decide on his reaction. The cat, while curious, remained cautious and decided against engaging with the playful pup while the pair's owners observed the heartfelt exchange, later sharing it to social media. The family had shared on the dog's TikTok account that they are based in Chicago, Illinois.

The viral video, which has amassed 1,600-plus comments, has drawn both admiration and praise from TikTok users who were moved by Otis' gesture.
