Mom Films Gentle Giant Doberman Acting as a 'Nanny' to Toddler Daughter

A heartwarming Instagram video swept viewers off their feet after a mom revealed where and who her toddler was hanging with.

Mom Tina Meeks, known on Instagram as @herlifesparkles, needed to vacuum the room she was in with her toddler and dog. The loud and scary device forced her toddler Mila to hide. She scurried behind the couch when the vacuum started, but she didn't go alone. Mila's "dog nanny" accompanied her.

Meeks found Mila and the family's Doberman Cinnamon sitting together in the dog bed or as Mila refers to it, the mini couch. Cinnamon stuck by Mila's side and kept a watchful eye on her just as any reliable nanny would do.

The caption reads: "Mila & her fur bestie... two peas in a pod!"

When Meeks checked behind the couch, she was greeted by four eyes looking back at her. Mila and Cinnamon were relaxing together and enjoying their time in the giant dog bed.

Mila smiled back at Meeks, however, the gentle giant was less thrilled. This dog nanny looked as if she was sick of always being on call and keeping an eye on the toddler. But you can't blame her for doing it, it's part of the breed's protective nature.

Large and powerful in stature, Dobermans tend to get a negative reputation. As the caption mentioned, they are portrayed badly in TV shows and films. People are intimidated by this dog breed. They are often associated with guard dogs. However, maybe to the surprise of some, Dobermans make excellent family dogs when properly trained and socialized.

Dogster, a dog magazine and website, wrote that Dobermans are great dogs for families because of their temperament and protectiveness. These dogs are playful yet they're aware of their power.

When Dobermans and children are raised together, the dogs will view the children as part of their pack. They'll be patient, loving and affectionate toward kids. But as it is with any breed, regardless of how great their reputation is with children, all dogs should be supervised while around little ones at all times.
