A dog called Macey has melted hearts all over the internet after her owner shared the face she makes every time she hears the ice cream van arriving.

In the heartwarming clip by @mybluegirlslife, which has gone viral on TikTok, the three-year-old pup, or "land seal" as her owner describes her, stares out of the window with loving eyes as she hears the ice cream van driving by.

Initially, she is indoors, wagging her tail as she waits patiently for the truck to get closer. Then her mom finally lets her out to go get her sweet treat, which she destroys in just a matter of seconds.

"For the past two years, every Wednesday the ice cream van comes and I had to show you what it's like," text on the clip reads.

A caption says: "Every Wednesday Macey will hear the ice cream van half an hour before its finally in our street. Is her favorite day of the week. Let's see the haters hate on ice cream."

We all like a good refreshing ice cream cone in the heat of the summer, but is it ok for dogs to indulge? Pet MD explains that while ice cream flavors like vanilla or strawberry are not toxic to dogs, ice cream in itself is still not the best pup treat.

The reason is that most dogs are naturally lactose intolerant, and ice cream can cause digestive problems like bloating, gas, and diarrhea. Moreover, ice cream is usually packed with sugar, which in large quantities can lead to diseases such as obesity and diabetes.

"A small lick of vanilla or strawberry ice cream likely won't cause your dog harm. But even a pup cup or doggy cone of a nontoxic flavor like vanilla or strawberry has enough sugar, fat, and dairy to cause digestive upset (or worse)," the medical website explains.

Some great summer treats for dogs include fruits such as blueberry, raspberry, banana, strawberry, and watermelon.

The video quickly went viral on social media, and has so far received over 7.2 million views and 1.1 million likes on TikTok.

One user, Ashley, commented: "I guarantee that is the ice cream truck driver's favorite part of the week. that is adorable."

Hannahs_padme said: "There's a staffy at the top of my street who gets in line behind all the children to have his ice cream."

Sash added: "I just know you schedule your day around this time so she will always get a ice cream."
