Corgi Who Has 'Had Enough' of Sister Has Internet in Stitches
The hilarious moment a dog had a relatable reaction to the trials and tribulations of being a big brother delighted the internet.
Harvey, a 3-year-old corgi, found himself at his wits' end with his exuberant little sister, Frankie, who is less than a year old, in a video that has been viewed more than 300,000 times on TikTok.
The dogs live with owners Janice and Will in Nashville, Tennessee, and the hilarious moment was posted by their owner on their account, @that.corgi.harvey.
In the video, Harvey looked directly at the camera with an expression best described as sheer exasperation as behind him Frankie was seen—and more importantly heard—manically squeaking her toy with unrestrained joy.
The video's text overlay humorously read: "When your little sister has you at wits' end," while the caption added: "Harvey has had ENOUGH."
"Harvey is a very expressive boy so he's always reacting in fun ways to Frankie," Janice told Newsweek.
With thousands of likes and more than 100 comments, people reacted to the sibling exchange.
"Harvey is contemplating catching a charge," joked viewer Courtnee, while mdsm8199 added, "He's ready to take a hostage." Another user, Jason, said: "She about to catch those paws," and Fi wrote: "The last nerve was set on fire."
Despite Harvey's obvious irritation with his canine sibling in the moment, there is evidence that dogs with more companions are healthier and happier, according to a 2023 study published in Evolution, Medicine, and Public Health.
The study, led by Noah Snyder-Mackler with Ph.D. student Bri McCoy and graduate student Layla Brassington, delved into the complex social environments of companion dogs.
The study surveyed over 21,000 dog owners, gathering data on various factors including physical activity, environment, dog behavior, and owner demographics.
The research revealed that a dog's lived and built environment significantly impacts their health, disease diagnoses, and physical mobility. Among the key findings, social support emerged as a crucial factor for canine well-being.
Living with other dogs, like Harvey and Frankie do, was associated with better health outcomes, highlighting the importance of social interactions in promoting a happy and healthy life for our furry friends.
This isn't the first time a dog's reaction to their sibling's antics has gained viral attention. Earlier this year a golden retriever left people in stitches when she was introduced to "the annoying puppy who won't leave her alone."
It isn't just dogs that have hilarious sibling moments, either. Last year Hannah Banana the cat managed to warn feline sister Marla not to come closer without even touching her.
