Husband Trying to Win Over In-Law's Dog 'Who Hates Men' Delights Internet
A man's consistent attempts to befriend his partner's parent's dog, who "hates men," has warmed the hearts of viewers online.
The man, who is based in the U.S., was captured trying to stroke Jenna Jolley's family pet, eventually reaping some success from his efforts.
Sadly, Jolley revealed in the post that her partner's progress backtracks every single time they leave her parent's house, leading to him having to win the female dog over again each time they visit.
The short clip, which was shared to TikTok on July 22 by @furturemrscase, showed the canine eventually warming up to Jolley's partner, to the delight of onlookers online.
Viewers were able to see Jolley's partner gently petting the dog, who at first stood at a distance from him before moving in closer to make the most of the attention she was getting. She was then filmed sitting on a couch, allowing Jolley's partner to come toward her and pet her on the head—an indication of the sweet bond they had formed.
The heartwarming video played against Mark Ambor's "Belong Together," which regularly accompanies moving clips online. Toward the end of the video, Jolley's partner was seen tickling the dog under her chin and massaging her neck. The moment marked a clear upgrade from the level of contact she would permit him to have at first. Notably, Jolley's partner would allow the dog time to come to him without putting additional pressure on the timid pet.
An overlaid text on the video read: "My man's green flag is trying to win over my parent's dog who hates men."
Jolley had shared that the family dog was "traumatized" by her ex to the point that she now has to be won over every time the couple visit.
"He never stops trying," she said.
The Internet's Reaction
Her partner's patience with the dog has been applauded by many of the video's 1.1 million viewers. The post, which has been liked more than 122,000 times, has been flooded with comments by TikTok users gushing over the man and dog's budding relationship.
"The way she is looking at him like hmmm maybe you're a good one," one user, @meganjensen89, said.

"The space he gives that dog," @greykitten555 commented.
