Orange Cat Who Loves Naps Attached to Owner Leaves Internet in Serious Envy
An orange cat has taken the internet by storm with his undeniable love for naps and constant attachment to his owner, as a recent Instagram reel showcasing their bond has left viewers envious of their relationship.
In the video, shared on Instagram in July by user @_potte_lechat, the cat is seen comfortably nestled in his owner's arms, exuding a sense of contentment that many cat owners aspire to experience with their feline companions. One viewer wrote, "When is my turn."
Newsweek has contacted @_potte_lechat for comment via Instagram comments. We could not verify the details of the case.
Despite the affection shown by the orange cat, not all cats are as comfortable being held or picked up. According to a Catster article, there are several reasons some cats may resist such close contact.
Firstly, being held is not a natural position for cats. In the wild, cats rarely interact in such a manner, primarily reserving close contact for mating or territorial disputes. Consequently, being picked up can make some cats feel vulnerable and exposed.
Additionally, cats that have had negative experiences in the past, such as being mishandled or taken to the vet, may develop an aversion to being held. Moreover, some cats prefer to maintain their independence and may view being held as a restraint.
For cat owners looking to cultivate a similar bond with their pets, it's essential to observe and understand their cat's unique personality and preferences. Patience, gentle handling and respecting boundaries can go a long way in building trust and affection.
The video quickly went viral on social media, amassing viewers from across Instagram. It has received more than 7.4 million views and 598,251 likes on the platform.
One user commented: "So cute. I miss my orange cat, I had mine for 13 beautiful years."
Another added, "Best and nicest thing I have seen all day."
A commenter said: "I just love his purrs. I have a cat that is identical to him and she purrs just as loud."
"I can run before mine is this affectionate because it's not his 'trick' except to get nuggets," another wrote.
A user added, "Wish I had a cat like that!"
