Dog Seizes Moment As Owner Leaves Grilled Cheese Unattended: 'Thanks Mom!'
While people still debate whether or not they prefer working from home, pets unanimously agree they love having their owners by their side practically 24/7.
Owners enjoy pets in their home office too, as it forces them to take breaks for walks or playtime, improves mental health and makes them feel less isolated. But sometimes, pets can cause a bigger headache to owners than work itself.
After being in Microsoft Teams meetings all morning, one owner finally had a chance for a lunch break. She made a grilled cheese sandwich, took a few bites and then went to the bathroom. But little did she know the dog was also itching for a lunch break.
The owner left the sandwich on the counter, which her Labrador Mastiff Hank sniffed from a different room. Knowing what was at stake, the dog cautiously walked toward the prize without being detected. Sadly for Hank, a home security camera captured the entire incident.
Hank hopped his two front paws onto the counter in the July 31 TikTok video posted to the account @hankthetank474. Quickly, he devoured half the sandwich. It looked like Hank was going to be a gentleman and leave the rest of the sandwich for his owner, but think again. He needed his seconds while the opportunity was still there.
One quick bite was not enough for Hank. He needed the second half and then some. After devouring both halves, he went back and made sure no crumbs were left behind, taking the plate with him.
Whether or not he took the plate to hide the evidence or to be thoughtful and clean up after himself, Hank managed this all before his owner returned.
The owner learned her lesson. She shared in the comment section that now she knows Hank is a countersurfer and she'll no longer be leaving meals unattended.

'Ate and Left No Crumbs'
The hilarious, but unfortunate, situation for the owner quickly went viral on TikTok, reaching over 6 million views, 759,200 likes and 8,754 comments as of Monday.
"Served on a plate for him! Thanks mom!" commented a viewer, while a second joked: "Nope, you are mistaken, definitely his grilled cheese."
Another added: "Ate and left no crumbs or plate. He took the evidence."
One TikToker pointed out: "At least he cleaned up after himself and threw the plate out!"
