Shelter Dog Now Living Best Life After Being Adopted by Woman With a Boat
A dog named Hank spent over a year and a half in a shelter but now gets to ride on his new owner's boat anytime he wants.
In a July post shared on TikTok under the username kasspelli, the pup can be seen standing by the edge of the boat, soaking in the breeze as he enjoys his day out at sea with his owner.
A caption shared along with the heartwarming clip says: "POV: you were locked in a shelter for 1.5 years and a white girl with a boat adopts you."
Spending a day at the beach with your pup can be fun, but it also exposes it to some dangers you're going to have to watch out for, like accidentally drinking seawater. This can result in harmful side effects.
What if you get distracted for a minute and your dog drinks some seawater? You should give your dog a sip of fresh water every 30 minutes, says the website MyFamilyVets, explaining that regularly drinking fresh water will help the pup rehydrate and replenish its bodily fluids.
"Most dogs will recover after drinking seawater, but you'll need to monitor your dog to make sure that nothing changes. If your dog continues to show symptoms or you have any concerns about their wellbeing, speak to your vet," the website says.
Common symptoms of salt poisoning include excessive urination, extreme thirst, confusion, lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, odd behavior, muscle spasms, seizures and death (in extreme cases).
The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 911,400 views and 99,300 likes.
One user, Kevin b, commented: "I swear he is thinking this and only this ..... 'if the boys could see me now. "
Corrie Mitchell wrote: "I have a rescue beagle and a pontoon. He loves the boat."
DrLuciferMD said: "This is me and my dog lol rescued him from a kill shelter in Miami, now he tries to wakeboard behind my buddies boat."
Bluey wrote: "Good on you wonderful thing to do i have a 'Rescue' over 10 years living his best spoilt life boating fishing swimming lots of outdoors and sleeps inside on my bed."
Newsweek reached out to kasspelli for comment via TikTok comments and could not verify the details of the case.
