German Shepherd Captured Warning Siblings to Stand Down: 'Calls the Shots'

A TikTok video left viewers in stitches after a canine who controls the house bossed his doggy siblings into doing what he wanted.

In a July 24 TikTok video, two dogs in the household put up their guards as an excavator was tearing up the yard outside. They stood at the glass door alert, barking and wagging their tails ready for whatever potential danger might come into their territory. It was their warning not to mess with them.

However, a third dog wasn't impressed. He knew there was nothing to worry about and he had enough of their yapping. In the clip posted to the account @bear_jessica02, a German shepherd walked over to his cohorts and told them to stand down. When the two dogs did not listen to him, he intervened.

The German shepherd stepped in between the dogs and the glass door to break up their barking and antagonizing of the construction worker. One by one he had to guide the dogs away from the window. And when one wouldn't give defending the property a rest, the German shepherd continued redirecting the dog elsewhere.

This dog's behavior shouldn't come as much of a surprise. German shepherds were, as their name suggests, originally bred to be herding dogs. His natural instinct kicked in and he thought it was his time to shine, herding them away to stop all the commotion.

Known as a dominant dog breed, this German shepherd wasn't taking no for an answer either. Brian Kilcommons, the founder of the training facility Great Dogs, told Daily Paws that German shepherds can be extremely specific and like things to be in order. In this case, the dog wanted the barking to cease.
