Dachshund's Response to Owners Leaving Him in Car Has Internet in Stitches

A pup from Germany has left the internet in stitches after his owners caught him on camera complaining about being left alone inside the car during their recent trip to Sweden.

In the hilarious video, shared on TikTok on Monday under the username fietemitrudi, the dachshund can be seen sitting in the driving seat of his owners' car, beeping the horn repeatedly to remind them he's still in there, and he's not happy about it at all.

"POV: your dachshund complaining cause you left him behind," the caption says.

While dachshunds are bright, loyal and courageous little dogs, they are also known for being a vocal breed, due to their tendency to be a little noisy.

PetPlan explains that these pups were originally bred for hunting animals in burrows. They have large barrel chests to give them stamina while hunting, which is a trait that can also translate into lots of running around and barking.

"With a surprisingly loud bark and plenty of energy, there's never a dull moment with a dachshund around!" the website explains.

Dachshunds are extremely loyal and devoted companions and if socialized at a young age they can be good with children and cats.

Even though they're small, dachshunds have a lot of energy, so it's essential for you to provide them with plenty of physical and mental stimulation to prevent boredom, which can easily turn into destructive behavior.

Adult pups need regular play time as well as a minimum of a one-hour walk every day. It is important that you stop them from running up or down the stairs or jumping around as this can cause back problems.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 413,400 views and 43,100 likes on the platform.

One user, melinhx, commented: "How dare you!" followed by a few horn emojis.

Another user, Moni Sigrist, said: "You know anyway it's me the BOSS."

Sophia added: "Okay but is that a dachshund phone case?"

Newsweek reached out to fietemitrudi via TikTok comments. We couldn't verify the details of the case.
