Labrador Devastated at What Mom Does With Stick Found on Walk
One woman's creative project has unintentionally captivated her 3-year-old black Labrador retriever, Basil.
In a video on TikTok (@basilionbrush) with more than 781,000 views, Anna, who lives in the U.K., shared how Basil has been fixated on her macramé artwork created with a stick found on one of their recent walks.
In the caption, she said: "I made a wall hanging with a stick I found on Basil's dog walk. Basil loves this stick and thinks it's his. Basil has been crying at the wall hanging for 20 minutes."

"The art was an early attempt at making a macramé wall hanging, made using special macramé string and a stick I found in the woods close to where I live," Anna told Newsweek. "I decided I wanted to use natural wood to hang the string from for this wall hanging, so, while walking Basil one morning, I found and picked up this stick."
However, from the moment Anna picked up the chosen stick, Basil was interested. "Basil was obsessed with the stick from the moment I picked it up on his walk. On the way back to the house, I had to hide it under my jacket so he wouldn't pinch it. While I was making the wall hanging at the kitchen table, he sat next to me whining and moaning and trying to take the stick off the table," Anna said.
Once she finished her DIY art, Anna thought that Basil might forget about the stick, but she was wrong.

"While I was in the other room, I could hear him whining, and went to see what the commotion was. And there he was, sitting in the bathroom pining over the stick in the wall hanging I had just put up," she said.
On TikTok, people were quick to react to Basil's frustration. "To be fair, if it's a stick found on Basil's walk, then it's technically Basil's stick.. So give it back," wrote viewer Sachke.
Naomi posted: "He'll claim it back the next time you leave him home."
"What happened to finders keepers?" added laurajdyson95, while BooplesnootBilly commented: "Be honest, who found it?"
Anna, who had never posted a video on TikTok before, was amazed by the viral reaction. "I thought it might bring someone a bit of joy in their day," she said. "I didn't expect so many people to see the video or interact with it—it was nice to see that other people liked to see what a little character Basil is!"
