Social media has been left in stitches by an unexpected Amazon delivery photo showing what a normally relaxed rescue dog is really like.

TikTok user Sabrina (@sabreeezyyyy) shared a hilarious post revealing the delivery picture that was sent to her by the Amazon driver, showing her family's dog Cody "levitating like Dua Lipa." Rather than his usual docile self, Cody became a ferocious guard dog as he jumped up and down in the glass door.

Speaking to Newsweek, Sabrina, 23, explained that her family rescued Cody a year ago from a lost dog foundation, and they thought he was "the most relaxed, chill dog ever." That wasn't set to last though, as Cody soon showed just how vocal and lively he truly is.

Nonetheless, they love him for it and can't get enough of the interactions he has with other people.

"Once he got comfortable and showed his true personality, we learned that he's a little jumping bean with a ton of energy," Sabrina, of Washington D.C, said.

"My mom would always send me screenshots of the delivery confirmation photos from Amazon where you could see Cody and my other dog, Kimba, sitting at the door. I guess one driver got Cody extra excited and caught him in an action shot."

Being protective of their home is a natural instinct for many dogs, as reported by the American Kennel Club (AKC). They will become accustomed to guarding their home and barking at intruders, and over time they begin to think that the driver is leaving because they got barked at. This can often reinforce the protective behavior and they see it as a job well done.

If constant barking becomes a problem, the AKC recommends introducing the dog to the delivery driver, or teaching them commands which build patience, including "sit" and "wait."

How Did TikTok React?

Since sharing the amusing picture on social media on June 28, it has delighted internet users and gained more than 910,700 views and over 44,400 likes on TikTok. Alongside the photo, Sabrina captioned the post: "Shoutout to the Amazon driver for this gem."

No doubt they'll be looking back at that photo any time Cody pretends to be calm and docile again.

The response on social media has been amazing for Sabrina to see, as TikTok users can't get enough of Cody's true self getting caught out. She continued: "The response has been really positive, and it seemed to give everyone a laugh on TikTok."

With over 370 comments on the post so far, she's loved reading through the creative responses people have come up with.

One comment reads: "Me after coffee."

Another TikToker joked: "Postie deserves a National Geographic award for that photo."

"Made his Amazon debut... hilarious," reads another response.

While one TikTok user added: "This is my most favorite thing I've ever seen."
