'Dumbest Cat' Doesn't Recognize Lifelong Dog Brother After One Tiny Change
A video of a cat's hilarious reaction to their dog sibling rocking a bandana left viewers in stitches and gained over 1 million views online.
Perplexed that a "new" dog came into the house, TikTok user @.annapadgett's cat, Ozzy, stared. His back arched. He was on high alert about the intruder and communicated his feelings with a puffed-up tail.
Cats often puff their tails, a process called piloerection, when they are angry, frightened, cold, or just having fun, according to the petcare website Catster.
In this instance, Ozzy's tail likely meant he was scared. Ozzy had no clue that the dog was actually his doggy sibling because he couldn't recognize the pup while it was wearing a new bandana.
Terrified, Ozzy wouldn't take his eyes off the dog. He kept his distance to stay safe, reverting behind the dining room table. He eventually found safety in his cat tree, high out of reach of the dog.
The owner kept trying to reassure her cat saying, "That's the same doggy you lived with your whole life," but later called Ozzy the "dumbest cat." She would've thought Ozzy would run away if he was scared, but the brain cells weren't fully working in the July 28 video.
Maybe the reason why Ozzy didn't recognize him was because the dog came home from a fresh groom. His paws were trimmed up and his coat shone bright. Although, he didn't look completely different.
Plus, the owner's other cats weren't reacting like Ozzy. They knew it was their doggy sibling.
