Hysterics As Lovesick Cat Tries His 'Moves' On Feline He's Trying To Woo

A video of a "hopeless romantic" cat attempting to win the affection of another feline has gone viral on TikTok.

The clip was shared by @casa_leone and has garnered over 838,000 views since it was posted on July 9.

A message across the screen reads "This is Henry and he is in love. He is in love with Tabitha, the former feral cat who lives in this room."

The footage shows Henry inside a home, staring through some glass framed doors. "She lives in this room because she hates other cats and tries to kill them," according to another message across the clip.

According to the video, "Henry does not care. He waits for her to come to the door so he can try to woo her with his moves," as Henry is shown sitting in front of the doors.

As unlikely as it may seem for any love to blossom between Henry and Tabitha, the pair may later end up learning each other's names, according to one study published in April 2022 in Scientific Reports.

The Japanese study, which observed household cats and cats belonging to cat cafés where many cats live together, found that felines learn the names of their "friend cats" in their daily lives.

The study found that "cats expect a specific face upon hearing the specific name of a companion" through the "spontaneous learning of relationships between names and faces in their everyday experiences, similar to what human children do."

A study published in September 2019 in Current Biology also found evidence that cats exhibit distinct attachment styles towards humans as well.

The study said: "Research suggests we may be underestimating cats' socio-cognitive abilities.

"Cats, like dogs, can be found living in social groups or solitarily, depending on early developmental factors, resource distribution, and lifetime experiences such as human interaction," the study noted.

'He Persists'

A note across the viral video says that Henry tries "moves like this" to seduce Tabitha, as Henry is shown in a belly-up position, with his back on the floor and paws in the air. Another note says "And this," as the cat twists his body and rolls over to his other side.

"Tabitha will watch, but she is unimpressed," another message reads, as Tabitha is seen looking at Henry from the other side of the glass doors.

"Still, he persists," according to the clip, which shows Henry squirming around on the floor on his back while looking towards Tabitha, "sure that one day he will win her heart," another note reads before the video ends.

TikTok users were amused by the cat's antics in the viral clip.

Sara C said, "He is so smooth with the ladies!"

Katie wrote, "So, Hopeless Romantic DOES come in Cat."

H noted, "he's doing the best razzle dazzles for her."

Liz said, "he's a good man Tabitha" and rhio said, "Stick with it Henry my sweet prince, love will prevail."
